Warranty information
Understand your charging coverage.
How equipment warranties and installation coverage work, and which documents to keep for your EV charger.
Two kinds of coverage
Your charger and the work to install it are covered by separate terms. A manufacturer’s product warranty addresses the equipment. Any installation or workmanship coverage is set out in your written installation agreement.
Your charger’s product warranty
Check the manufacturer’s documentation for the coverage period, registration requirements, exclusions, and the process for getting support. Coverage can differ by charger model, installation setting, and use.
Your installation agreement
Refer to the agreement and invoice for your project to understand what work is covered and for how long. An older website description does not replace those project-specific terms. If you are arranging a new installation, ask for the coverage details with your estimate.
Keep these details together
- Charger make, model, and serial number
- Purchase receipt and manufacturer warranty
- Installation date, invoice, and written agreement
- A description of the issue and any message shown by the charger
